Brianne Szirony's passionate about helping others, and as part of the Vancouver Half Marathon she's raising money for Spinal Cord Injury BC, an organization which has played a big part in her life.
Tell us about yourself Brianne: I live in Vancouver with my service dog. I love to volunteer and support others however I can! I started attending SCI BC events shortly after my motor vehicle accident in 2011.
I've made many friends there - lifelong friends - and their programs have helped support the mental and physical health of so many people. Why have you decided to raise money as part of the July 26th Vancouver Half Marathon?
Brianne: A lot of my friends were encouraging each other to do so and reminded me, and I absolutely love raising money for causes I believe in. I know SCI BC has helped me and others in various ways throughout the years.
I raised money for SCI BC a few years ago as well, and I'm excited to be doing it again.

How are you feeling with the event approaching?
Brianne: Excited! I'm looking forward to it. I’ll be participating virtually. I joined Zoom exercise classes through SCI BC, and for folks doing it virtually we're challenged to attend more exercise classes, in lieu of being there in person. How can people support you and your cause? Brianne: Please visit this link and consider donating to Spinal Cord Injury BC :)
