Send A Message: Raising The Rates

BC Disability

December 7th, 2024

BC's provincial disability rates are far below the poverty line, while claw backs on extra income keep persons with disabilities from getting ahead.

This has been the case far too long, and it's time that changed.

Complete the form below asking for your MLA, Premier Eby, and the Minister of Social Development and Poverty Reduction to commit to action. Your message will be sent directly to them.

That means increasing PWD rates to at least $2100 monthly to meet the low-income classification for a single adult, and removing damaging claw backs and spousal caps.

Thank you for raising your voice; change is long overdue.

As a single mother of two on P.W.D it would sure be nice to not worry about losing my benefits if i work over the amount of 16200. Its very hard to think of rent and bills and eveything eals that needs to paid when that mark is hit and your now down to 900$ every two weeks. Its alot of anxiety and stress that kids should not have their mother go through beacuse she was bron with a disability and has beem trying to work and be somewhat of normal functioning human trying to teach them how to be a functioning hum…

I self collect PWD and I also work full-time. I think they should raise the yearly amount to where we’re allowed to make because my paycheque just doesn’t cut it. The PWD really helps with bills and some groceries.
